Itinerary to Châtel (Haute-Savoie)

Châtel is located near the border between Switzerland and France, not far from Lake Geneva, and has about 1,500 inhabitants. The village lies in the Abondance valley and is surrounded by villages like Morgins, La Chapelle d' Abondance, Champery, Morzine, Les Gets and Avoriaz. There are several ways to travel from the UK to Châtel.

By car

Coming from the UK it is approximately 850 km from Calais to Châtel, and takes just over 8 hours to drive.
Taking the route through Switserland you drive direction Montreux.

  • After Montreux take exit Monthey and Pas de Morgins
  • Follow Morgins (Châtel appears by itself on the signs)
  • Drive through the village of Morgins pass customs and drive into the village of Châtel

By plane

Châtel is 1 hour and 15 minutes from Geneva Cointrin International Airport,  visited by most major airlines. At the airport you can rent a car and continue your travel:

  • Geneva Cointrin
  • Follow signs Geneva Centre
  • Then select Evian
  • When you see Thonon on the signs follow that direction
  • Later folow the signs to Châtel

You can also travel from the airport by train (http: //fahrplan.sbb.ch), taxi (Alpin Taxi - Morgins: +41 (0) 79 283 33 13 ou +41 (0) 79 653 15 86 Taxi Rubin - Châtel: +33 (0) 4 50 73 32 83) or take bus (http://www.sat-leman.com) to Châtel.

By train
